Elvis Presley in “Blue Hawaii” (1961) (PG)

Come and have a fun social afternoon of cinema. Our first screening will be hosted in the Thorngate Theatre, part of Thorngate Halls on Bury Road, next to the War Memorial Hospital and at the geographic centre of Gosport.

Wednesday 22nd March 2023 at 1:30pm
Thorngate Theatre, Thorngate Halls, Bury Road PO12 3PX (see map)

Our aim with this Midweek Matinee format is to bring together a group of people from across the area who might otherwise be stuck at home. This might include the Over 60s, disabled people and care home residents accompanied by their carers (who can attend for free). But also any other members of our community such as those unable to work or newly arrived in the country. We are an inclusive and welcoming organisation.

About the Screening

You are encouraged to come early and stay afterwards for a cuppa and a chat, whilst the theatre doors will open at 1pm the onsite Bistro is open for lunch beforehand. Food and drink will be provided by Claire’s Bistro on-site. Our initial capacity is 100 which will allow us to have a relaxed “cabaret style” seating layout so you move around rather than be stuck in a row of chairs for the entire afternoon.

  • Refreshments and Lunch Options
  • Warm Space

If you would like to get involved helping us to run screenings, we need your help! Whether it is greeting arrivals, checking tickets or just making sure audience members have a good time – there are a wide range of opportunities and it’s just a few hours of your time with no ongoing commitment. Show your interest if you are up for it and we’ll get in touch.

Need Help with Transport?

If you need assistance getting to the screening please let us know. We may be able to put you in contact with organisations or arrange for you to be picked up. Whilst there is ample parking (pay and display) and the venue is served by many bus routes (including the E1, E2, X5, 9 and 9a) we understand that everyone has different needs. If you have any concerns or requests about your visit, please just let us know!
