Our Supporters
Cinema For All, the national organisation for the support and development of community cinema in the UK, helped us to develop. This includes training, support and a bursary from the British Film Institute awarding funds from The National Lottery. Our community cinema successfully applied for a community grant in February 2023, we are supported by Gosport Borough Council.

Despite the lack of commercial cinemas in Gosport there are a wealth of alternatives.
Who we are
Gosport Community Cinema was founded in January 2023 by local film enthusiasts and community activists Nick Van de Weyer and David Marks. We also have Rob Hind, film studies academic and operator of The Ritz at St. Vincent onboard as consultant.
The intention is to build a network of venues, providing regular affordable and inclusive screenings to diverse audiences. In July 2023 we formally adopted a constitution.
