We are Gosport Community Cinema and our mission is to make more film screenings happen in the Borough of Gosport.

Who are we?

Nick Van de Weyer MCIM

Nick is a marketing consultant who relocated to Gosport in 2020. Since his arrival in the area he has been actively involved in volunteering for and supporting community non-profit organisations. These include: Gosport Voluntary Action (GVA) where he runs a regular networking and skillshare group the Bringing Gosport Together Marketing Forum. He directly supports The Hovercraft Museum and is Chairperson of Gosport Marine Festival 2023.

David Marks

David is a IT professional with extensive technical experience and has lived in Gosport for around 7 years. David founded Repair Cafe Gosport in recent years and has successfully guided this non-profit community initiative to independence. The Repair Cafe is now governed and operated by its members. Presently David is founding new community initiative including Oral History Gosport and Gosport Community Cinema to bring people in our community together to share common passions.

Why a community Cinema?

There are no commercial cinemas remaining in Gosport. We have been approached by venues asking for help with putting on screenings. Our vision is of a network of venues, providing regular affordable and inclusive screenings to diverse audiences.
